Gender Theme Papers Report (March 2008)

City District Government Faisalabad (CDGF) through its Strategic Policy Unit (SPU) has conducted the Gender Audit of its selected departments in order to become more citizen focused and to take into account the needs of the poor and vulnerable groups of the society including women. The objective of the Gender Audit was to address social exclusion issues of the poor and vulnerable within a policy framework, and based on the findings of the gender audit, Gender Theme Papers have been developed for selected departments.

Pre-Empting Poverty And Promoting Prosperity
The City District Government of Faisalabad has established a vision for itself which is “Pre-empting poverty and promoting prosperity” and wishes to eliminate poverty by taking a number of initiatives. However, it is well aware of the fact that the institutional capacity needs to be developed and as such the City District Government Faisalabad produced a Corporate Plan for the District in 2004, which in turn is supported by evidence-based departmental Strategic Operational Plans (SOPs).

Planning Report - Chak 100 RB, Town Jaranwala (October 2006)

This report details the results of an investigation of the options for bringing the scheme back into operation, either as originally designed or in modified form. The investigation covered both demand for a piped water service and the options for supplying that service. The former involved interviews with village residents and a formal questionnaire survey.

Conditions of Contract (Urdu) (October 2005)

The Conditions of Contract between contractors and district government have now been translated into Urdu for the very first time. The original document was rarely read by contractors and engineers often led to contractors making decisions and deciding on a course of action that did not have any legal basis.

Consultation Report (December 2004)

District Government, during the preparation of the Strategic Operational Plans, was keen to ensure that a broad range of stakeholders were consulted, prior to defining district wide strategies and action plans. Moreover there was a need to solicit the opinion of service users on perceived weaknesses & bottlenecks in service delivery mechanisms before commencing with a curative strategic planning process.

Communication Strategy (December 2004)

To address these very issues Faisalabad District Government has produced a communication strategy, the first of its kind. This reflects the value we have placed on improving our public relationships, the information this administration wishes to divulge to members but also to the public more widely. Effective communication is a key strategic aim of this administration and therefore all departmental Strategic Operational Plans have made communication a central tenet.
